The All New Wyrley Colts have won the prestigious “Heart of Gold”  award courtesy of  the 107.7 The Wolf  “Children of Pride Awards 2010”.

This annual awards ceremony recognises the outstandng achievements of children for their work, commitment, personal successes or acts of selflessness in the City of Wolverhampton. Wyrley Colts Under 10’s were nominated by Morris Homes, recent sponsors of the Colts’ charity football match which netted £1350 for Compton Hospice, for the team’s fundraising efforts and their excellent fairplay in football over the last 4 years.

This latest recognition follows the team’s “Community Heroes 2009”, and, “Local Heroes 2010” awards for their work in the community.

The black tie “Children of Pride Awards” will be held on Thursday 2 December at the Ramada Park Hotel in Wolverhampton.

    After telling Mattie P’s school about this, they held a special assembly on Friday and awarded him the “Community Award” for their school (Wood End)…
