Trev Smith recently wrote to Manchester United to ask if Sir Alex Ferguson would formally open our new clubhouse. Unfortunately Sir Alex has a busy diary, but not to be put off Trev asked if any of the players were available. They too were too busy but Trev asked if we could have a signed match ball and also if they could do something to present it to me on behalf of the Club. All this went on without anyone’s knowledge, so you can guess at my amazement and delight to hear that Trev, knowing I was attending the United v Wolves game, had arranged for the Player Liaison Manager, Barry Moorhouse to contact me. Barry and United kindly invited me to meet him before the match and hopefully meet some players.

I duly met Barry last Saturday and he then took me to the Players’ Lounge. Whilst drinking a cup of tea, Chief Executive David Gill and Rio Ferdinand popped in. A certain Mr Rooney sat signing some boots and I was introduced to Ryan Giggs, interrupting him making a cup of tea for Mike Phelan. I then had photos taken with Giggsy, Darren Gibson, Macheda, Diouf and Jonny Evans! Looking round, I realised I was the only non United staff member there! What a day, what a one off opportunity – and all down to Trevor Smith. Well done Trev and my personal thanks for organising! And a big thank you to United too – no one ever gets to hear of this side of the club!

The signed ball will go in the Club Trophy Cabinet.

Pictures below – me with some of the players. I’m the one wearing the scarf!!

The Tigers got in the festive spirit on Friday evening and swapped their football boots for their dancing shoes for a disco night at the clubhouse.

The event was organised by the parents for the Tiger’s and their families and friends. The outcome was great with spectactular music by our very own Scott of Wolf FM and food catered for by the parents.
The night consisted of party games and tombola and a special appearance by Wyrley Bear which topped the night.

Thank you to all family and friends for their support as all funds raised will go towards new equipment and kits for the team.

We hope everyone had a fun evening, from all the Tigers and parents we would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The Staffordshire FA has issued clarification to participants relating to the use of social networking sites, including, but not limited to Twitter, Facebook and internet blogs.

Participants should be aware that comments made on such sites may be considered public comment, and that further to FA Rule E3, any comments which are deemed improper, bring the game into disrepute, or are threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting may lead to disciplinary action.

Comments which are personal in nature or could be construed as offensive, use foul language or contain direct or indirect threats aimed at other participants are likely to be considered improper.
Participants are required to act in the best interests of the game at all times and should be aware of this when using social networking websites.

Furthermore, participants are reminded that postings on social networking sites which they believe to be visible to a limited number of selected people may still end up in the public domain, and consequently care should be exercised with regards to the contents of such postings.

In addition, we would remind participants that social networking postings could also lead to civil proceedings being brought by affected parties.

PLEASE BE GUIDED ACCORDINGLY
