Under 7′s, under 8,s and runners up or winners must confirm with paul haywood that they are attending on 07805 399458.

Guys, this is your presentations from the league, no league that I know of have held a mini soccer festival like this before with inflatables including human table soccer to make it a funday for the children and if its not well represented by teams may not be run again. Lets make sure that Wyrley teams are not responsible and have a good turn out.

Any questions to paul haywood in the first instance, but I am here to help if needed.

Regards

The details for the format of this year’s Presentation Nights in the Stadium and Bonser Suites at Walsall FC’s Banks’s Stadium have now been finalised.
Entrance is by cash payment at the door – £3 for adults with non player children £1. Every person entering will have their hand stamped as proof of payment, which must be shown when reentering the room. Each team will be allocated 3 tables of 12 seats each for non players. These will be signposted.
Each night has been organised into 2 shifts (see dates and shifts below for details of which night and time each team has been allocated).
Shift 1 starts at 7.30 – players and family need to be in the Suite by 7.15 please.
Shift 2 starts at 8.30 – players and family need to be ready to enter the Suite at 8.15 please. Whilst shift 1 is taking place a penalty shoot out for each team in Shift 2 (except for May 6th night) will be organised on the astro turf adjacent to the Suite, which is available from 7.00 onwards.
As Shift 2 teams are having their trophies presented, Shift 1 players will move to the astro turf for their penalty shoot out and then return to the room at 9.15.
Penalty Shoot-out winners will receive trophies, presented later in the evening.
Players will be sat with their teams in rows in front of the stage.
Player trophies will be laid out for each team by the committee.
Players’ Player and Manager’s Player trophies will be available from me in the week before each night if managers wish to have them engraved. No other trophies will be presented – teams may organise their own team presentation nights to do this.
There will be a bottle raffle – each team to bring a prize. Bottles to be left with security in the entrance lobby.
Swifty will hopefully be present at the Presentation nights and Wyrley Bear will be present at all nights.
There will be a professional photographer on site to take individual and team photos. There will be a disco until 12.00 after the presentation.
Strictly NO food or drink to be taken into the room!

On a bitterly cold morning at Pelsall E.D.C Wyrley started very slowly against Cresswell Colts and were 1-0 down within 2 minutes as a long range Cresswell effort left Jacob with no chance as the ball ended up in the back of the net. This sparked the Tigers into life, Josh.P won the ball, passed to Charlie who then and passed to Luke on the halfway line, Luke beat three Cresswell players, rounded the keeper and dispatched the ball into the back of the net to make the score at half time 1-1. The second half started similar to the first and Cresswell managed to take advantage of not being closed down and beat Ryan twice to leave the Tigers 3-1 down. Kyle, Finley and Evan started to get the ball forward to Josh.S and Ethan who were unlucky not to score after a neat one two. A throw from Ethan was then cleared to Kyle who hooked a ball back into the box and Jacob headed back accross goal for Evan to prod home and make the score 3-2. Cresswell were now camped in their own half and when the Tigers won a throw near the corner flag Kyle took a quick throw to Evan who smashed the ball hard and low left footed into the Cresswell net to bring the score level at 3-3. The remaining minutes were played out in a midfield battle between the two teams and the score ended Wyrley 3-3 Cresswell Colts. Man of the Match: Evan Kuzmicz

The Tigers second game was against Red Star Raiders. The first half was an end to end encounter with Ethan keeping the Tigers in the game with some quick thinking and great saves. Josh.S and Kyle formed a good partnership up front and were unluckly as a neat one two move saw Josh.S shoot agonisingly wide. Jacob, Josh.P and Finley worked hard to break down the Red Star attacks as Luke nearly opened the scoring with a sweet left footed strike that went wide. Half time score 0-0. Charlie went in goal for the second half after suffering an injury in the first half and did a fantastic job. Evan won every single tackle that he attempted and worked hard up and down the pitch. A ball from Evan caused confusion in the Red Star defence and Ethan never gave up, winning the ball back and shooting at goal, only to be denied by the post. Wyrley pushed everything into their forward moves and got caught three times leaving them 3-0 down. The Tigers forward line of Kyle and Josh.S caused the Red Star defence problems, with Ryan being denied after being put through one on one with the keeper. The next attack saw Wyrley get a goal back as Kyle passed to Ryan to volley the ball past the diving keeper. Full Time score Wyrley 1-3 Red Star Raiders. Man of the Match: Ethan Lavender

Player of the Week: Kyle Smith

After qualifying for the next round of the Cup, Wyrley were placed in Division 1 for the league campaign this year. A tough group but one that will challenge the players and give them the chance to develop their game more.

Despite the joy of being in the top division Wyrley started very slowly against a strong Pelsall Villa Colts team and struggled to find their passing game. Kyle and Charlie worked hard but Wyrley struggled to get out of their half, looking short of confidence and found themselves 2-0 down at half time. Changes were made at half time with Jacob replacing Josh.S in goal and Josh returning to his usual forward position. Evan made some great runs forward in the second half and was unlucy not to get on the scoresheet. Jacob was impressive in goal, making a couple of vital saves to keep the score at 2-0 and Josh.P made two superb blocks as the Pelsall forward was ready to shoot from close range. At the other end of the pitch, Kyle and Josh.S were looking dangerous and set up Ryan who had a shot saved by the Pelsall keeper. The next Wyrley attack saw the ball fall to Josh.S who drilled a right footed shot low into the net to half the defecit and make the score 2-1. This goal came late in the game and Wyrley were unable to force any more goal scoring chances, leaving the final score Wyrley 1-2 Pelsall Villa Colts. Man of the Match: Josh Pritchard

The Tigers second game of the day came against Hednesford and with no-one wanting to go in goal, Ethan volunteered and showed a great attitude to help the team. The Tigers again started very slowly and were missing the kind of determination and team spirit that had been evident in the early weeks of the season. After three minutes Wyrley were lucky to still be on level terms and if it had not been for the last ditch tackling from Finley and saves from Ethan, the team could have found themselves behind. Once again we struggled to find a way out of our half despite the best efforts of Kyle, who chased every ball. Halfway through the first half Hednesford got their deserved reward as they capitalised on the Tigers ineffective clearance and shot the ball past Ethan to make the score 1-0 and that is how the score stayed until half time. A half time talking to seemed to shake the Tigers briefly into life, with Josh.S, Evan, Ethan and Kyle starting to find their passing game and break through the Hednesford defence, with Ethan and Kyle going close with shots on goal, but agonisingly wide. Charlie took the gloves for the second half and gave a fantastic display keeping the Tigers in the game with some great saves and good defending from Josh.P. As the game wore on the Tigers pushed forward leaving Hednesford with chances and from a long ball forward, Josh.P cleared for a throw in and a quick throw and cross allowed an unmarked Hednesford player to head the ball in to make the score at the final whistle Wyrley 0-2 Hednesford. Man of the Match: Kyle Smith

A disappointing morning when the Tigers did not show the kind of performance that they are capable of. Despite being second best to most balls and outplyed for large parts of both games, we only lost 2-1 and 2-0. This shows that if we keep working hard and return to the energy levels, determination and passing football of the games in September we can be challenging these teams more.

A special mention must go to Josh Singh who volunteered to go in goal for the first half against Pelsall Villa Colts and said “Rob, I ‘ll do my best in goal, I am just doing it for the team.” – A great attitude!

Wyrley were out to show Cresswell how good a team they are after their narrow defeat to Cresswell two weeks earlier. And how the Tigers delivered. The first half was one way traffic as the Tigers kept Cresswell in their own half with shots coming in from every attack. The longer the first half went on, the more it looked as if the Tigers were never going to score; Kyle, Jacob and Evan all going close but being kept at bay by some last ditch Cresswell defending. The Tigers passing game was a joy to watch and it was great to see the boys working hard for each other and they got their reward in the last minute of the first half as Evan found Ethan in space who then found Kyle who passed first time to Jacob and after a neat one two with Josh Singh Jacob cooly smashed the ball in to make it 1-0 to the Tigers at half time. The second half started as the first ended with Wyrley dominating, every time Cresswell did break forward Finley was on hand to block absolutely everything. A cross from Ryan out wide on the left fell nicely for Ethan but his shot was blocked and the rebound fell to Josh Singh who found the bottom corner of the net with his left foot from the edge of the area. Soon after Wyrley were 3-0 up as Ethan shot from the edge of the area and his shot was deflected in past the helpless Cresswell keeper. Cresswell’s best chance came from a long shot from near halfway which Josh Pritchard dealt with easily and then distributed early to Charlie to set up another Wyrley attack and Charlie found Josh Singh in space but his shot was tipped wide by the Cresswell Keeper. Full Time Wyrley Tigers 3-0 Cresswell Wanderers. Man of the Match: Finley Forrester

The Tigers second match was against a tall and strong Handsworth team and the Tigers started the game showing them too much respect, by standing off and not getting their tackles in like they did against Cresswell. Josh Pritchard was desperate to stay in goal so he did and made some great saves to keep Handsworth at bay, Jacob and Finley were strong in the tackle and the midfield of Evan, Kyle and Charlie started to dominate the game and feed Ryan with chances to open the scoring but his shot went agonisingly wide of the post. Kyle was working hard to set up attacks but Wyrley were unable to find that final ball to maintain their 100% record against Handsworth. The half time whistle came with the score at 0-0. Josh Singh and Ethan started brightly in the second half and Charlie was breaking up every single Handsworth attack. Wyrley were finding it hard to get their passing game going but as Evan stormed forward with the ball, he played in wide to Ethan who fired in a cross for Evan, whose first two shots were blocked by the keeper and his third effort rebounded off the post. Ryan also went close with a snap shot that clipped the post, Josh Singh and Jacob also went close but were somehow denied. As Wyrley pushed for a winner Handsworth were dangerous on the break but Charlie showed his ability to read the game by making sure every Handsworth attack came to nothing and came away with the ball every single time. Kyle found Ethan in space but the ball just would not go in. With two minutes to go Wyrley threw everyone and everything at Handsworth but got caught twice in the last minute by counter attacks leaving Josh Pritchard with no chance from either of Handsworths two efforts and the game finished Wyrley Tigers 0-2 Handsworth. Man of the Match: Charlie Lee

Player of the week: Ryan Bannister

Two good performances today boys, we were unluckly in the second game, keep working hard for each other as it it is great to watch. Up the Tigers!

Wyrley were looking to build on their impressive performances last week and were up against a strong Red Star Raiders team team, who the boys had watched a week earlier. Wyrley started brightly and when Ethan played a ball into the box looking for Kyle, a Red Star defender pushed Kyle and the referee duly awarded the Tigers a penalty. Ethan then stepped up confidently to dispatach the penalty at the second attempt after the referee brought his first effort back as he had not blown the whistle. Tigers were unluckly not to extend their lead with Ryan crossing for Finley who was unlucky that his effort was blocked by the recovering Red Star defence. The half time whistle came with the score Wyrley 1-0 Red Star. Red Star came out fighting in the second half and were really up for it. Jacob was impressive in goal and had to be to stop three or four goal bound Red Star efforts. Josh Pritchard and Evan were immense in defence, blocking shots, getting their tackles in and keeping the Tigers in the lead. Wyrley then started to regain more possession and Josh Singh and Luke linked up well to try and stretch the lead, but Red Star were holding strong and managed to break away and squeeze a shot past Jacob in the last two minutes to equalise, which in fairness they probably deserved. Full Time Wyrley Tigers 1-1 Red Star Raiders.

Man of the match: Josh Pritchard

After a confidence boosting draw Wyrley looked really up for their next match against Brownhills Colts. Luke started in goal and his distribution to Ethan, Josh Singh and Ryan was causing the Brownhills defence problems. Jacob and Josh Pritchard started in defence and were able to take it in turns to push up and support when the Tigers were attacking , which was for most of the first half. Evan worked hard up and down the pitch and was causing the Brownhills defence some problems. Despite the majority of the possession, the Brownhills defence were blocking everything that the Tigers threw at them, leaving the score at half time Wyrley 0-0 Brownhills. Ryan went in goal for the second half and looked composed, dealing with everything that came his way. Kyle and Luke started to dominate the midfield, feeding Ethan and Josh Singh with goal scoring opportunities but it was looking as though it was not going to be our day. Finley found Ethan wide on the left, he beat his man and crossed for Josh Singh, whose shot was blocked and the rebound fell to Jacob, but again he found his shot blocked as well. With time ticking away it was Wyrleys time to score a late goal, as Kyle found himself with the ball just outside the box, he beat his man and shot towards goal where Josh Singh was waiting to flick the ball past the keeper to the joy of the Tigers. Brownhills had one last attack but the Tigers worked well as a team to deal with the threat and clear the ball upfield, signalling the end f the game, Wyrley Tigers 1-0 Brownhills.

Man of the match: Kyle Smith

Player of the week: Jacob Hadwen

Well done Tigers, two fantastic results today, we are now starting to see some great team play and the results are coming as a result of this. Well played boys!

After an unbeaten pre-season the Tigers played their first competetive games this morning in the Dereck Tarbuck Memorial Cup.

The first game was against Cresswell Wanderers and after an entertaining first half where Wyrley could have taken the lead through Finley and Ethan the half time whistle came with the score 0-0. Wyrley started the second half slowly and Cresswell managed to force a shot past Josh Singh from close range. This fired the Tigers into life and after a nice three man passing move between Kyle, Charlie and Ryan, Kyle stormed past three Cresswell players to slot the ball into the bottom corner and make it 1-1. Wyrley were still having most of the play, with Evan, Jacob and Josh Pritchard setting up chances from defence and Josh Singh producing a great diving save to keep the scores level. Cresswell were not to be denied with their next attack as the ball fell to their midfielder ten yards out who fired the ball home to make it 2-1. Wyrley rallied and were unlucky not to find an equaliser in the closing minutes, a great effort. Final Score Wyrley Tigers 1-2 Cresswell Wanderers. Man of the match: Charlie Lee

Second game, from one extreme to the other. Wyrley struggled in their first game to put their chances away but in the second game vs Silverdale Hornets, the Tigers simply could not miss. A newly formed Silverdale team were immediately on the back foot as some great passing from Kyle and Josh Singh allowed Josh to make it 1-0 to Wyrley inside the first minute of the game. It was soon 2-0 as Josh Singh crossed for Ethan to prod the ball past the advancing keeper. Ethan then returned the favour as he beat his defender on the left before crossing for Josh Singh to drive the ball high into the net. Then from one of Ryans trademark corners, Finley had his shot blocked, leaving Ethan to score his second of the game from close range. Josh Pritchard was largely untroubled in defence and dribbled past two players before passing the ball to Ethan, who crossed into the middle, where Kyle was waiting to smash the ball in to make the score 5-0 at half time. With Josh Singh and Ethan both chasing a hat trick, Wyrley started the second half as they had finished the first and When Ethans shot came crashing off the crossbar Evan was on hand to prod the ball home. With Charlie and Ryan producing great crosses, the scoring opportunities kept coming and it was Charlies cross that caused the Silverdale defence problems, leaving Evan to slot home his second goal of the game. With all players trying to get themselves on the score sheet, Wyrley were caught out by the Silverdale counter attack and only some great saves from Jacob in goal, stopped Silverdale scoring from their five one on ones which they created. Ryan was unluckly not to score with his effort coming back off the post and then Ethan rattled the woodwork again after his shot came back off the crossbar, the ball eventually falling to Josh Singh who beat his man to slot the ball home and claim his hat-trick. With six minutes to go Ethan found himself with the ball in the box and only the keeper to beat, he calmly slotted the ball past him to take his tally to three and the score to 9-0. Josh pritchard was unluckly in the final minute as his left footed shot drifted inches wide of the post. Final Score: Wyrley Tigers 9-0 Silverdale Hornets. Man of the Match: Josh Singh.

Player of the week: Ethan Lavender

A fantastic morning of football, with some great goals and passing footall. Well Done Tigers!
