Walsall Junior Youth League have organised a festival day for mini soccer on 12th June, there will be football for under 7′s and under 8′s who will also collect thier medals after playing. There is also presentations to winners and runners up of under 9,10 and 11 leagues . Under 7′s, under 8,s and runners up or winners must confirm with paul haywood that they are attending on 07805 399458.

Guys, this is your presentations from the league, no league that I know of have held a mini soccer festival like this before with inflatables including human table soccer to make it a funday for the children and if its not well represented by teams may not be run again. Lets make sure that Wyrley teams are not responsible and have a good turn out.

Any questions to paul haywood in the first instance, but I am here to help if needed.

Regards

The details for the format of this year’s Presentation Nights in the Stadium and Bonser Suites at Walsall FC’s Banks’s Stadium have now been finalised.
Entrance is by cash payment at the door – £3 for adults with non player children £1. Every person entering will have their hand stamped as proof of payment, which must be shown when reentering the room. Each team will be allocated 3 tables of 12 seats each for non players. These will be signposted.
Each night has been organised into 2 shifts (see dates and shifts below for details of which night and time each team has been allocated).
Shift 1 starts at 7.30 – players and family need to be in the Suite by 7.15 please.
Shift 2 starts at 8.30 – players and family need to be ready to enter the Suite at 8.15 please. Whilst shift 1 is taking place a penalty shoot out for each team in Shift 2 (except for May 6th night) will be organised on the astro turf adjacent to the Suite, which is available from 7.00 onwards.
As Shift 2 teams are having their trophies presented, Shift 1 players will move to the astro turf for their penalty shoot out and then return to the room at 9.15.
Penalty Shoot-out winners will receive trophies, presented later in the evening.
Players will be sat with their teams in rows in front of the stage.
Player trophies will be laid out for each team by the committee.
Players’ Player and Manager’s Player trophies will be available from me in the week before each night if managers wish to have them engraved. No other trophies will be presented – teams may organise their own team presentation nights to do this.
There will be a bottle raffle – each team to bring a prize. Bottles to be left with security in the entrance lobby.
Swifty will hopefully be present at the Presentation nights and Wyrley Bear will be present at all nights.
There will be a professional photographer on site to take individual and team photos. There will be a disco until 12.00 after the presentation.
Strictly NO food or drink to be taken into the room!

Today we were back at Leamore Park and our games were against Bloxwich and Wednesfield.

Our first game against Bloxwich again started off slow with the Tiger’s seeming to be on the backfoot, but in true Tiger’s spirit we battled away until a great shot from Charlie H hit the back of the net, bottom corner. The rest of the game was end to end with nither team giving.

The second game against Wednesfield looked as if it was going to be yet another close one but after a searching corner from Dan the ball hitting the defender on the front post and hitting the net. We carried on putting Wednesfield under pressure until another shot from Dan deflected off a defender and again went in. Wednesfield began to battle back and an error by the Tiger’s let the striker from Wednesfield shoot. The Tiger’s carried on and soon an attacking Tiger was brought down in the box, PENALTY, Dan stepped up to the mark and Smack bottom corner. WELL DONE LADS……..!

Man of the Match this week and Captain next week is Frazer (Goalie) who made some fantastic saves today and really kept us in the game against Bloxwich. His kicks have improved by leaps and bounds (we told him to practice hitting his bedroom window), WELL DONE FRAZER…….!

The Tiger’s were up against some very tough opposition this week with the first game against Cresswell and the second against Pelsall Villa.

Our first game didn’t start off very well at all. After a little chat to lift there spirits and some words of encouragement we came out a different team, and soon with some great battling and team work we got back in the game with goals from Kai and Dan. If only we had started as we had finished.
The second game the Tiger’s started a lot better, with yet another goal from Dan, but Pelsall battled well and soon got one back on the break. The Tiger’s carried on putting on the pressure but the Pelsall defence would not give up.
Man of the match this week and Captain next week is Zack, who is building in confidence week by week and made some great runs and excellent challenges this week. WELL DONE ZACK KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK……..!

Today’s matches were played at Leamore Park, our first game was against Sedgley Scorpions.

The Tiger’s started off slow this morning and seemed to be lacking in their usual tempo, we had chance after chance and the ball very rarely came into our half, but we simply couldn’t find the oppositions net. The second half started pretty much the same until a skillful move around a couple of player’s and a wicked shot into the bottom corner by Dan.For the rest of the game it was much the same.
Our second game was against Brewood, who so far have not lost a single game, unfortunately the Tiger’s were still not firing on all cylinder’s (too many late night fireworks…..!), we didn’t seem to want to play this morning. The second half (after a little chat with the player’s) was a totally different game, the Tiger’s battled and had at least half a dozen shots narrowly missing the net, we were not taking this lying down. It was simply not our day, if only the Tiger’s had started the day as they had finished…!

Man of the match this week, and captain next week is Ryan, who played well even though played out of position.

Today the Tiger’s were back at Leamore and our games today were against Ashmore Park and Wednesfield. We knew these games would challenge us as they are both good teams, but in true Tiger’s spirit we came out roaring.

In our first game against Ashmore it was end to end but the Tiger’s seemed to wear down their opponents and a magic finish by Dan put us in the lead.
Our second game was again going to be tough after a pre-season friendly we knew that Wednesfield had some talented players but this was not to phase our Tiger’s. After attack after attack by the Tiger’s and some great saves by their keeper the Tiger’s were awarded a free kick some 20-25 yards out, Owen (who used to train with Wednesfield) bravely stepped up to take the kick……..Bottom corner, a fantastic shot that no-one including their keeper saw coming. Play carried on and eventually a great pass forward by the Tiger’s saw Codey slot his shot past the keeper.
Another great weekend of football from all the Tiger’s, Man of the match this week and Captain for next week is Owen who played well throughout and stepped up to the mark against his old team showing he is a true Tiger…..!

The Tiger’s were out in force again this morning starting their first game against Bentley Community with a goal within the first few minutes, there seemed to be chance after chance and Bentley simply could not keep up with our pace and passing ability. Tiger’s goals scored by – Kai who got 2, Charlie H who got 1, and Owen who got 1. As it was last week it could have been many more and with more shooting practise I am sure the goals will come.

The second game was aganist Shire Oak Cubs who we have played before in a pre-season friendly and were a challenging side. The game went from end to end, in the first half and many breaks and goal scoring opportunities were missed by both teams. In the second half the Tiger’s seemed to have the upper hand but the Shire Oak defence made some great challenges and their keeper some great saves.
Man of the Match (or bloke of the week) this week and Captain for the next match day is Ben, who worked really hard this week making some great defensive challenges and some last minute tackles when the Tiger’s were under threat. Well done Ben keep up the good work…!

Today was an early start for the lads and first kick off was at 9am, but all of the lads were definitely up for it….!

The first match was against Shire Oak and the lads started as they meant to go on with some stunning football and brilliant passing for a team of 6 and 7 year old players. Charlie H started off the score with a great finish after some brilliant runs, followed not long after by another great goal from Owen. We seemed to have chance after chance but just simply could not get the result we deserved. Second half remained the same with some more great chances but just not getting the goals we deserved, till Dan broke free and again shot, nearly breaking the net .

The second game was against Beechdale and from the word go Wyrley were well in control, with goals from Kai who scored 4, Charlie H who scored 2, Zack who scored 3, Dan who scored 3, Mason who scored 1 (on his debut) and Ryan who also got 2. In the final few minutes Dan kindly offered to take the goalie position so Frazer (who had not even touched a ball all morning) could play out. Man of the match this week and captain next week is Charlie Hollis who played well throughout, made some great runs up the wing and many perfect crosses not to mention the 3 goals he scored.

We have two birthday’s this week so happy birthday to Charlie Hollis and Owen Bestall and have a great day and best wishes from all the team.

Me and Jase would like to say a massive well done to all the lads for their effort today, and say how proud we were to be part of Wyrley Tiger’s Under 7′s……..WELL DONE BOYS…….
