2012 Tournament date is confirmed as our usual third weekend in June – 16th & 17th – book early to avoid disappointment!

The following are just a few of the comments we’ve received about our tournament this year so far: -

‘On behalf of Hasbury Rangers U12 players and parents, just to say what a fantastic day we had yesterday and not just because we won, but everything was spot on. Book us in already for next year as it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t at least try to defend our trophy!’

‘Firstly thank you for the opportunity to join you on Sunday.
It was a fabulous day, we reached the final with one team and knocked out in the Quarters with another. Can I just say what a fantastic competition you have. Superbly organised, communication excellent, access, parking and facilities ideal. The registration was simple and all games organised well.
I add that the referees were of the highest standard, fair to all, we had a lady referee and we all said how good she was, with the boys and spectators, well done to her.
There is always passion from the sides but it was controlled and managed well.
A great day, the boys have a medal and would love to be considered next year and support you.

Another successful Tournament!

170 teams, 1500 players, 5,000 spectators, all 42 referees in place, all parking off the street, a quality programme as usual, every Wyrley team involved in the organisation, teams from 6 counties and many, many positive comments received is a quick summary of the last two days. Packed away and enjoying a well earned pint by 7.00 was an added bonus too!

My personal thanks to every Wyrley member, parent, manager and friend who helped to make it so successful.

Successful First Day!!

Despite 3 rain showers, the first day of the the largest sporting event in the Chase Area, organised by the biggest football club in Staffordshire went very well. 85 teams enjoyed a day full of excellent football and the bonus was we were in the pub at 6.20 with everything set up for tomorrow. Well done to all Wyrley folk involved in the day! Lots of praise from teams from Cheshire, North Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Shropshire and the West Midlands.

2011 Tournament Application Form

Most Successful Tournament Yet!! 2011 date confirmed as 18 & 19 June!

The sun shone on Wyrley Juniors as the Club served up what was probably its most successful tournament yet.

The highlights were: -

- a full compliment of teams entered – over 160 in all! Teams from Cheshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire and the Black Country took part. Over 1500 players taking part and 5,000 spectators
- every team in the club involved in completing the numerous tasks required to put on such a major event
- all car parking off the road with plenty of room to spare
- all 42 referees turning up and great feedback received re their performance – thank you Jim Kerrigan!
- another quality programme – thank you Gareth! Thanks to the sponsors for their support
- pitches in excellent condition – thank you Gt Wyrley Performing Arts High School and Moat Hall Primary School
- 14 pitches measured and marked in 1 day – thank you Shaun Ponder and Carl Foy for your help here
- great personal support from Bill Hickenbottom for organising the food and cash with great assistance from Kate Foreman and Mark Smallman
- superb electrical engineering from Martin Millard
- great support over the days leading up to and during the event from Martin Whitehouse, Andy Parfitt, Trevor Smith, Martin Cooper, Ade Sheppard, Lisa Ford
- excellent monitoring and communication with teams by Candy Ponder
- a wide range of sideshows
- tremendous control of results etc from Julie & Dave Anstey

AND too many other people to mention! If I have missed anyone off – my apologies. It’s the truly great team effort that makes me proud to be part of this Club.

Tournament Sponsors for St. John's Ambulance

The Club is delighted to announce that Southern Cross – Hornegarth House have kindly agreed to sponsor the St Johns Ambulance at this year’s annual tournament. Without the support of local businesses such as Hornegarth, the tournament could not go ahead – many thanks again!
