With the well publicised abuse scandal hitting football at the elite level, the club is taking the lead locally and has organised a Safeguarding Week commencing 16 January 2107.

During this week we will have a club only Safeguarding Course at the clubhouse – date to be confirmed. This will be for managers who have to take a face to face course AS WELL as any parent who would like to attend, numbers permitting.
We are also having a First Aid course on Monday 23rd January – also at the clubhouse – again this is for managers and coaches firstly but we are also opening it up to parents.

If you would like to attend – please add a comment below and we will try and accommodate.

We have also issued team managers with club produced Safeguarding cards. These will be given to a parent for each club player and they detail contact numbers for Child Line, local Police support, Club Welfare Officers, Staffs FA Welfare Officer etc.

We are also arranging age specific presentations by police officers and school teachers to our young players – dates to be confirmed – as well as a course for managers looking at how to identify grooming etc.

The club will announce other initiatives as we get closer to the week.

The club is determined to ensure every parent of every player in the club has confidence that their child plays within a safe environment.

If you have any other ideas – please let us know.
