Football Remembers.

Most people will have heard of the football match that took place between British and German soldiers on Christmas Day 1914 during WW1.

The Club is asking every one of its 48 teams within the Club to take part in the above initiative, which has been organised by The FA, Premier League, Football League and British Council.
EVERY game played by teams within the club between December 5th and 14th will be marked by having a photo of both teams in a mixed squad photo. The photos will then be uploaded to #footballremembers and to the club’s Facebook page, Twitter and website (as well as League published social media addresses) to act as a permanent reminder of football Remembering the unofficial truce of 1914.

Can each team liaise closely with opponents before scheduled games to agree that the photo will be taken and to organise a ‘team photographer’ to carry out the initiative.

The club is proud that teams supported the Peace Games in August and the stick on poppy initiative earlier this month – let’s get behind this initiative too.

We will remember them.
