We are really, really proud of this.
With donations from our teams and followers, our Youth Committee created 34 hampers in their own time, made up of items that would cheer anyone up at Christmas and especially in these difficult times.
They were then delivered to recipients in Great Wyrley, Cheslyn Hay and Essington, who had been nominated because they were lonely, aged, ill or had had a tough time recently.
We also delivered hampers to The Lakes and The Conifers Residential Homes to be given to residents who receive few visitors.
To say that the initiative was well received is an understatement – some of the responses brought tears to our eyes too.
Well done everyone who contributed to this fantastic initiative.
So, so proud to be Wyrley! Definitely more than a football club!
Young people can be inspiring!
Pictured below are some of the lovely people who received a hamper and of the putting together of the hampers.
