Markfield Colts 1 – 3 Wyrley U12s Girls

An excellent team performance saw Wyrley run out worthy winners against a strong Markfield side.
Wyrley led 1-0 at the break thanks to a fantastic finish from Hollie Hinsley. The goal came courtesy of a defence splitting through ball from Lauren Harris following an interchange of passes starting in our own area.
Markfield raised their game after the interval and pushed further foward. This inevitably left gaps at the back which our pacy front runners fully exploited. Ellesse Birkett saw three efforts superbly saved by a very good keeper as she burst clear of the defence before Wyrley deservedly smashed a second goal. Again from the boots of Hollie Hinsley as she burst into the box to convert a Chanice Clarke cross.
Relentless Wyrley pressure paid off again as another break by Chanice followed by a cross Beckham would have been proud of saw top scorer Ellesse finish off Markfield as Wyrley took a 3 goal lead. A late Markfield rally earned a consolation goal but by then the points were well and truly ours!
Fantastic performance girls – some super football and clinical finishing!!!
