A magnificent all round team display from Wyrley Under 18s Girls saw them beat local rivals Starlands 6-0. Anyone who saw the game today knows it could easily have been double figures such was the supreme quality of football played by our girls!
This team posses an unbelievable amount of attacking pace from all areas of the pitch and they are a sheer joy to watch in full flow!!
Unstoppable Ellie Walker opened the scoring driving powerfully into the centre of the net to end what must have been a move of at least 8 passes – straight off the training ground from Monday night!!! Then came Ellesse’s absolutely stunning 4 goal burst – including one with her head that was amazingly brave but showing her total commitment to scoring a goal! Lauren Walker completed the rout bursting through to score – in all fairness she deserved many more with a couple of attempts missing the goals by inches!
Amy and Jade – our strikers are fast but wow you should see these two fly down either wing – terrorised Starlands all game and both came oh so close to adding to the scoreline. Midfield maestros, superstars, awesome footballers Soph, Chloe Coldicott, Lara and Scotty ran the show!!
Wyrley it just isn’t fair to other teams that we have so many superb players!! Oops – and Cara, for so long protected by our magnificent defence but bravely out to deny Starlands on the couple of occasions they broke free!
Squad: Cara, Chloe Matthews, Rian, Dani, Ellie Walker, Chloe Coldicott, Lara, Lauren Walker, Lesi, Amy, Scotty, Soph, Jade
