WYRLEY PANTHERS 1 V 0 WYRLEY PUMAS

This was a subdued performance by the Pumas, but credit must be given to the Panthers who competed and passed well during most of this game. An unfortunate mistake by the Pumas goalie led to Panthers taking the lead in the first five minutes, Pumas took awhile to settle after this and it wasn’t until near the end of the first half that Abi Hall ran in on goal but delayed her shot long enough for Amy Cotterill to get yet another challenge in. Panthers defence and midfield remained well organised for the first period of the second half. Abi Hall managed to break their shackles to run in on goal, then she unfortunately pushed her shot wide of the goal. The last quarter of the game Pumas played their best football of the match creating chances for Lucy Wells, Jordan Parker and Sophie Robinson but Panthers defence stood firm, to close out the game and progress to the semi-final.

Well done to the Panthers and good luck in the semis.

Both teams were a credit to the Club – shame it couldn’t have been the final.
Well done Panthers and next year for the Pumas!
