This was a superb, convincing win by the Pumas against  Manhunter The Cotton Club divx a previously unbeaten league champions, a fabulous team effort, with every Pumas player contributing at some point to achieve this result. Pumas started brightly and soon went in front when Lucy Wells coolly slotted the ball home from close range. Pumas competed well and always looked dangerous on the break, Wells went close again with a good header from a Jaffa corner, half way through the first half Wells went clear again and chipped skillfully passed the advancing Wednesfield keeper. Pumas maintained their lead to complete the second half. The second half was always going to be a hard fought one, Wednesfield got into the game, by securing a bit more possession during the first few minutes of this half, Pumas defended well through this period and were rewarded when Abi Hall raced clear to slot the ball home for Pumas third. A desperate Wednesfield upped their physical presence for the last quarter of the match but Pumas were equal to it, Wednesfield got a goal back but Pumas responded as Wells went clear again only to be upended by the advancing keeper in the penalty box. Great Result girls, Spoke to Wednesfield manager Paul on the Sunday afternoon, as we were playing their ladies team and he said that he was a bit disapointed in losing the game although they had won the League.
Keep up the good work as i can see a number of you playing in the Ladies teams in a few years time.
