  WYRLEY JUNIORS 0 v 1 WEDNESBURY WILCATS

A whole month had past since Wyrleys last outing, However the girls put plenty of effort and endeavour into this performance, Every girl worked hard and Alicia Baker had one of her best games in a Wyrley shirt but just failed to convert one of a couple of chances that fell to her in the first half, Kate Lawton led the line well for Wyrley too, Wyrley competed well to maybe have edged the first half on chances created but unfortunately no goals to show for it. The second half and a strong wind now favoured the away team and to their credit Wednesbury secured more possession and put Wyrley under pressure during the first part of the second half, Lauren Manton came of her line well to deny Wednesbury on a couple of occasions but the key moment of the game came when Beth Arrowsmith turned the Wyrley defence and from the edge of the box struck her shot into the roof of the net. Wyrley never gave up and came back into the game in the last 15 minutes but didn’t manage to test the Wednesbury keeper. This however was an all round better performance than the previous one against todays opponents and Wyrley were a little unlucky not to get something out of this match.

There were many good performances but a special mention for man of the match Abby Judson, Hayley Leese, Ilora Anderson and Alicia Baker who played exceptionally well today.
