  BELVEDERE  0 v 2 WYRLEY JUNIORS

Wyrley were in determined mood to end the season on a high note, after playing the same team last week they new what was needed today to secure another victory. A solid team performance once again was the platform for this second win in a week against a physical Belvedere outfit. Wyrley started well and put early pressure on the Belvedere defence, Ilora Anderson taking some excellent corners during this period but unfortunately Wyrley unable to capitalise from them. Wyrley took the lead however when Meg Titley made an excellent break down the left and delivered a perfect cross for Danni Biggs to find the back of the net. Wyrley continued to pressurise the Belvedere defence and this time it was some good work from Lucy Wells who found Titley in space to put Wyrley 2 up. Wyrley’s domination of the first half was almost further topped off by Titley but her effort came back off the crossbar. The second half saw the opposition push 3 up front but Wyrley kept their shape well and restrict them to just one or two attempts on goal. Wyrley’s superb midfield effort won the day once again and credit to each of the girls in those positions, the back four was solid too and also take credit for Wyrley’s clean sheet.

A brilliant end to the season girls, there is a  great rhythm and shape  to the team and this will provide the building blocks for next season. Thanks for your commitment during 2010/2011.
