Stourbridge Ladies U/17s 1 Wyrley Juniors FC Girls U/17s 2

Wyrley were not at their best but still came out winners. Stourbridge are a very physical team and Wyrley didn’t match them in the 50/50 battles in the first half, but upped their game in the second.

They went behind as dwelling on the ball led to the Stourbridge striker taking the ball through and hitting home past Nia Jay. Wyrley chances were few and a half time change in postions gave them more of a cutting edge and to match Stourbridge physically. Hayley Turner’s pace created havoc and despite being buffeted on numerous occasions, she despatched 2 well taken goals. Even one of the Stourbridge parents said that her finishing was the difference between the 2 teams.

Nia Jay had an excellent game in goal.

Not the best performance girls but 3 points nevertheless.
