Under 18s Girls – new season with 4 new girls!

The Under 18s Girls are looking ahead to the new season and have strengthened their title winning squad further with 4 quality signings: –

Sophie Shorrock joins us from our last season’s Central Warwickshire Girls Football League Under 18s title winning side after scoring 36 goals for them and also a further 26 goals playing for our Ladies team. Sophie certainly knows where the net is and I’m delighted she has rejoined us after a gap of 3 years.
Domique McKee joins us from Stourbridge ladies, who finished third in the league, where she was captain. She scored 18 goals for Stourbridge last season, is very powerful, skillful and plays centre midfield.
Shannon Markland also joins us from Stourbridge. Shannon plays centre back, also very powerful and is also very comfortable in possession. She scored 1 goal last season.
Laura Lindsay joins us from RPS Dynamos, where she was captain. She scored 20 goals last season, is tremendous on the ball and will give competition in dead ball situations.
4 new players with over 100 goals between them!
The team welcomes each of them and their families!

All the squad from last year’s title winning side, except for Emily Downes, have signed again this season, giving us a squad of 16 extremely talented girls. The tough part will be team selection but the easy part will be knowing that every replacement is as good as the girl leaving the pitch.

Emily Downes has decided to hang up her boots but she will be welcome back if she decides to carry on. In the meantime, we thank her for all her efforts for the team and wish her every success in the future.

We have organised a friendly against Port Vale Ladies on August 28th; have another one to be confirmed against Bridgnorth Ladies and I am waiting for a call back from one other strong team to test the girls.
