Colts Under 11’s first defeat but heads held high

The Wyrley Colts Under 11’s suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Ashmore Park Rangers on Sunday. Trailing 1-0 for most of the game, Jake Powers pulled one back for the Colts with 5 mins to go and it looked likely that a draw was on the cards. Unfortunately in the last couple of minutes APR snatched a late winner. While some of the Colts were very upset, heads were held high and we all know who the true winners on the day were. The lads did us proud……

Well said Pete. We made every attempt to protect our boys but some people know not how to conduct themselves. It was a very low day for me as a manager. I’m very proud of my boys and of how they played as sportsmen. THAT shows other clubs that Wyrley Juniors are there “To compete and enjoy”.

I agree with you both soooooooo proud of our boys who played a fab game of football through disgraceful curcumstances. The result of the match does not give our boys the justice they deserve, they were the winners that day.
I became a protective mommy to the players that day and would do again to protective the boys from a managers and parents abuse.
Scott you showed how a true manager should conduct himself,I thank you and glad my son is one of your players.
