Wyrley Jaguars U8s and 14s returned to action after the summer break with contrasting results. The U8s in a friendly at Lakeside FC were outclassed in the early by some fine passing and finishing but battled back showing character and never giving up.
The U14s Jaguars took on visiting Chasetown Colts in their first league encounter and ran out narrow 1-0 winners. The scoreline doesn’t tell the whole story as the Jags dominated for long periods against a very organised defiant Colts side who gave 100% throughout! The Jags experience eventually told as Louie Grice claimed the winner with 15 minutes to go but the Colts never gave up and continued to provide the odd scare with a late direct approach. The 2014/15 squad has gelled nicely with new editions, Kieran Emms, Jack Pritchard and James Henderson making solid debuts lead as ever by captain fantastic Tom Leak.
