Wyrley Jaguars U8 v Sutton Utd Wasps U8 FRIENDLY 11.01.09
by Andy Coleman on Jan.12, 2009, under Under 17s Jaguars 17/18
After the mid season break the Jaguars were looking to maintain their 2008 form against a big strong looking Sutton Utd Wasps side. Despite some rusty passing on a heavy pitch the Jags soon applied some early pressure and the Wasps defence were called upon early to keep their side in the game. Midway through the first half the Jags took the lead when Midfielder Kyle Baskeyfield broke free down the left and chipped the Sutton keeper with a finish that belied his young years. Having taken the lead the Jags then squandered several chances that would have effectively put Sutton out of the tie and as a consequence the Jags finished the first half clinging onto their slender lead. Having found their feet on the Jags big pitch the Wasps were a different side in the second half looking to get back on equal terms, the Jags defence of Oliver Cooper and Man of the Match Euan Aston were worked especially hard and despite some fine saves from Nathan Lawrence the Wasps eventually pulled level. As legs tired the game became open and either side could have won it late on and the final whistle saw an even game finish deservedly all square.Valley of Angels movie download
