Match Report:- Wyrley Juniors United U13’s Season 2013-14

Lichfield League Shield Division 1.

Wyrley Juniors United 0 v 0 Castle Juniors.

United got a taste of what the Lichfield premier league has to offer when they entertained Castle Juniors from Tamworth today. Castle competed well as you would expect and kept their shape well during the first half, however United had the better chances, Tom Wheeldon going close twice, the keeper parrying his first effort onto the post and behind for a corner. From a well delivered Liam Morley free kick, Sam Foreman hit a great volley but his effort just cleared the cross bar. Castle upped their game in the second half and put United’s defence under pressure, They were a little unlucky and they hit the cross bar, United still threatened on the break and Wheeldon went close again, however after United just edged the first half, Castle were the better team in the second half and the points were shared.
