Match Report:- Wyrley Juniors United U14’s Season 2014-15

Lichfield League Division 1.

Mere Green 5 v 0 Wyrley Juniors United.

United were given a bit of a lesson today and were second best to their opponents on this occasion. Mere Green kept possession well and their two wide midfield players proved to be a thorn in the side from the start of this game. Mere Green used their pace and power well and along with their ability to link up with other team members made life difficult for United’s midfield. Green took the lead towards the end of the half when a speculative 35 yard lob just dropped under the bar. United couldn’t manage to raise their game to better their opponents in the second half and it must be said they didn’t on this occasion do themselves justice. Mere Green made their superiority count with 4 more goals in the second half to cap a fine performance and leave United licking their wounds! The defence were under constant pressure today and Elliot Crook was given United’s man of the match for competing well throughout the match.
