Match Report:- Wyrley Juniors United U13’s Season 2013-14

Lichfield League Division 1.

Beacon Colts 0 v 7 Wyrley Juniors United

United got back to their best today, this wasn’t easy on a difficult surface and with a wind blowing from one end to the other. Tom Wheeldon turned out to be United’s man of the match but all of the team played a significant part in this win. United showed their intent early and Wheeldon just failed to lob the advancing keeper after a few minutes, But he more than made up for this in a 20 minute purple patch, scoring twice from close range and then hitting his hat-trick with a bullet header from an accurate corner taken by the hard working Liam Morley. Half-time came and United knew the Colts would throw everything at them, however United also remained a threat on the break and continued to move the ball well. United profited again from a superb Morley corner, when Charlie Hill forced the ball home. United continued to compete well and Charlie Street put in Elliot Crook whose rising effort just cleared the bar, Wheeldon turned provider after hitting his fourth, putting in the excellent Morley and John Mcdermott to add to United’s tally on the day.

Well done lads immensely proud of your hard work and spirit today!
