Match Report:- Wyrley Juniors United U14’s Season 2014-15

Lichfield League Division 1.

Castle Juniors 4 v 2 Wyrley Juniors United.

United travelled to Tamworth for this league match and came up against a well organised Castle team. The game was relatively even in the first half, however Castle took the lead with a superb strike from distance, Callum Mowe and the rest of the United defence performed well during this half, United’s best spell of the game came during the last 10 minutes of the half, and a great through ball found Tom Wheeldon to even things up just before the break. Charlie Hill was a little unlucky to have a superb headed goal disallowed during this period too. Half-time came and Castle picked up their game a little and created a few chances, they had a good spell and took their opportunities well to race into a 3 goal lead, United were a little shell shocked but did manage to create some pressure during the last quarter of the game, a fine run by Sam Foreman was cut short but a clumsy challenge in the box, Foreman stepped up and scored the resultant penalty kick to add a bit more respectability to the final result.
