Match Report:- Wyrley Juniors United U13’s Season 2013-14
Lichfield League Shield Division 1.
Lichfield City 6 v 2 Wyrley Juniors United.
United came up against a well drilled Lichfield team in this league 1 shield game, with the wind behind their backs Lichfield used the space on a big pitch well and hit 3 unanswered goals in the first half, United having to rely on the counter attack for their opportunities. The second half and United were quickly out of the blocks, a great pass from Tom Peacock put Tom Wheeldon through to open Uniteds account. All hopes of a comeback were dashed however when Lichfield hit a purple patch and a ten minute spell yielded them 3 goals, their finishing right out of the top drawer, United didn’t give in and were rewarded when man of the match Kieran Hall scored his first goal for the club. United forced several corners towards the end of the game but couldn’t quite add to their tally.
