Match Report:- Wyrley Juniors United U14’s Season 2014-15
Bilston Cup 1st round.
Parkfield Panthers 0 v 4 Wyrley Juniors United.
United and their opponents started the game pretty evenly, there were not many chances created in the opening 20 minutes or so, However United got more into the game towards the end of the half, and were putting a little more pressure on their opponents, with a few minutes left before the break, Cory Crutchley got clear of the well drilled Panthers defence and beat the keeper at his near post to put United 1 up! The second half started as evenly as the first half but United went two up midway through the half when some good work down the right by Cody Stephens was rewarded, he coolly chipped the advancing keeper to open his account in a United shirt. United held their shape, the introduction of Tom Peacock added some steel and craft to the United midfield and in the last 15 minutes United created a few chances, but so did Panthers and United’s man of the match Callum Mowe came off his line well to thwart the Panthers striker. With 5 minutes to go Crutchley raced clear to hit his second and with the last kick of the match Sam Foreman drove a somewhat speculative effort which caught the keeper out as he could only watch it fly into the top corner of the goal.
