Match Report:- Wyrley Juniors United U14’s Season 2014-15

Lichfield League Shield Division A.

Brereton  1 v Wyrley Juniors United 4.

United got back into action today against lower league opposition,  Brereton who have had a difficult season thus far worked hard and competed well throughout the game, but just lacked that little bit of quality in the last third of the pitch. United took a few minutes to settle and adjust to the narrow pitch, Tom Wheeldon opened the scoring for United after a great through ball from Callum Ward sent him clear, he then calmly stroked the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Ward then hit United’s second from the penalty spot, a well hit shot by Cory Crutchley was only parried into the path of Sam Foreman who hit  United’s third, United cruised for the next few minutes and were punished when a well hit shot from the edge of the box just squeezed beneath the crossbar. The second half and Brereton played a more physical game and the game became a little bit scrappy, Wheeldon hit his second from a well taken free kick, United had further opportunities but the Brereton Keeper had an inspired second half to keep the score respectable. United man of the match Tom Wheeldon.
