Playing for the first time since the Christmas Break, Wyrley were glad to get back into the swing of things again. Western Union download

From the whistle both teams started out looking to get the upper hand.  Huntington managed to put Wyrley under pressure for the first five minutes until the lions attacked on the break with Lewis and Emily putting Liam through to score the first goal of the game.  That gave Wyrley confidence and the rest of the first half was even between the two teams with Huntington managing an equaliser just before half time.

Wyrley started off the second half strongly and took the game to Huntington looking to retake the lead with some excellent link up play between Liam, Lewis, Luke and Jamie. Huntington scored their second goal against the run of play but this gave them confidence to come back into things and they made it hard for Wyrley to break them down. Huntington went on to score again and win the game 3 – 1.

Despite the loss this was the best Wyrley had played all season, especially Tom and Harry in defence who played together for the first time, but instantly clicked and it looked like they had been a partnership for years with the understanding between the two of them being exceptional.

Keep playing like this and things are looking good for 2009, well done everybody.
