A fantastic game of football by both teams for the last game of the season.  There were chances at each end of the field with both teams just missing the nets.  The game meant alot to both teams, with 5 minutes to go it was still 0 – 0.  Cannock Town then turned up the pressure a little towards the end of the game scoring past a crowded defence as the ball slid under the body of Sean our goalie.  Cannocks second goal was just excellent football on their behalf – they passed the ball around a now tiring Lions team, and their striker only had one thing on his mind, to score, which he did as he blasted the ball in the back of the net to applause from both sets of parents – there was absolutely nothing Lions could have done to stop Cannock scoring their second goal.  At the end of the game, Cannock Towns manager commented on how much the Lions team has improved over the course of the season and said how well all of the players had played – everyone played excellent on Sunday, its a shame we have to loose some of our younger players for next season, but I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to all the parents for all ther support over the season and especially to all the players for all their hard work in a difficult season.  Lets keep it going for a little longer and enjoy our football in the tournaments !!!
