Wyrley Juniors FC hosted 2 teams from the International School, Mafikeng, South Africa on Good Friday, 2nd April at Rosemary Road, Cheslyn Hay,despite the poor weather.

Our Under 15s were too strong for their opponents, running out comfortable winners 10 – 1.

The second match involving our Under 17s was a far more competitive affair and both goal keepers were players of the match for each team. The winning goal for ISSA came with almost the last kick of the game – final score 0 – 1.

Both games were played in tremendous spirit, which continued into Cheslyn Hay Community Sports Club afterwards, where we treated our guests to a buffet and refreshments.

There are already plans to make a return visit, as an open invitation has been made.

Our thanks go to Martin Cooper who refereed the first game; Cheslyn Hay PC for letting us use the changing rooms and pitches and to Cheslyn Hay Community Sports Club.
