Wolves are managed by Simon Steptoe who has been with the club for the past 5 seasons, running his older team Wyrley Panthers U’13’s and now Wolves U’9’s. His Wolves side were thrown together in a three week period in May 2011 in time to compete in the Wyrley 7’s tournament in June that year. Our initial goals were to create a fun friendly environment for the kids to play & train and whilst this is still at the forefront of our thoughts, few could have predicted how quickly the team would progress.

Wolves’ first season at under 8’s was non competitive, although there were plenty of warning signs that this team had a lot to offer. This has been cemented in our first competitive campaign this season with Wolves winning the Alberta Wood Shield with a record of P18 W14 D3 L1 GS 61 GA 20 PTS 45. Our aim is to build on that success in the second half of the season and early signs look good with a win and a draw from our first two games.

We are currently sponsored by Regal Coach Hire & Bouncey Castles.co.uk and are actively seeking new sponsors for the 2013-14 season. Training is open to anyone who wants to attend 6-7pm at Cheslyn Hay Primary School on the grass at the rear of the Astro Turf. Off the pitch the team try to do a major social event whenever possible for their efforts. Last season saw a morning out at Laser Tag and this season the hope is to participate in a Tournament to be held on the Derby County FC’s Pride Park Stadium. We will be entering several end of season/summer tournaments and hope to add some more silver wear before the start of next season.

We always look to maximise our contacts with Walsall FC who have used our team on two occasions for ball boy duties during trialist games. In return we have had two players receive free physiotherapy through the club as our link with Walsall FC is as strong as ever.

We are always on the lookout for new players of whatever ability, so if there are any players interested in joining or just training then please feel free to contact Simon on 07896484380.
