Death knell for grassroots football in Walsall?

We have received notification that Walsall MBC intend to increase their pitch hire fees for next season to: –
Senior football (no changing rooms) from £804 to £1817 (an increase of 128%0
Senior football with changing rooms from £1677 to £2567 (an increase of 54%)
Junior pitch from £362 to £1618 (an increase of 323%)
9 v 9 pitches from £367 to £1333 (an increase of 263%)
This is subject to public consultation.
Teams and leagues are already struggling – how do they expect teams and clubs to meet these costs.?
