Long Lane – progress so far

Work has started on the Club’s new ground at Long Lane and as covered in yesterday’s Express & Star, the ground breaking ceremony took place on Thursday.
Contractors have been on site for nearly 2 weeks now and already the area of trees and scrub where the clubhouse/community building and car park will be sited has been transformed as the pictures below indicate.
I intend to post regular photos of progress to act as a record of the build.

Fundraising plans are also taking shape for us to raise the remaining sum before completion of the development in late August and these will include: –

Race Night 25th February at Cheslyn Hay Community Club – £1 entry. We are looking for race sponsors at £25 each and horse owners at £10 – contact me if you’d like to purchase
Variety Night in March at Cheslyn Hay Community Club – details to follow
Snowdon Sponsored Walk 23rd April (Easter Saturday) – so far 40 managers and parents have signed up for this – again, if you’d like to take part or sponsor, let me know.

Other events to be confirmed, will be – 24 hour 7 a side match for ALL teams and Long Lane draw with £1,000 first prize.

We are also looking for any used mobile phones and lap tops that are no longer needed – can you give these to me, Martin Millard or to your manager.
