Long Lane vision getting closer!
by Keith Hardy (Chairman) on May.06, 2010, under News
The Express and Star has already reported over the last few days that Essington Parish Council are to discuss whether they will become a partner in the Football Foundation funding for our scheme to develop Long Lane at a cost of £1.3m. By doing so it satisfies the football Foundation that all parts of the community are behind the bid.
A very positive meeting was held at Staffs FA Headquarters last night with 7 Parish Councillors, 7 Club members, our Architect and Quantity Surveyor, the Football Foundation and Staffs FA taking part, when all issues were discussed.
Should Parish Council agreement be obtained at their meeting on Monday 10th May, then our bid for almost £1m of Football Foundation funding will go forward on May 18th. We will then have a wait of 2 months to hear if the scheme has been agreed.
This is the final hurdle in a 9 year journey – the vision is very close to a reality!

Thanks trev – but without your support and encouragement throughout the process we wouldn’t be where we are!
