WYRLEY JUNIORS UNITED 7 v 1 SPORTSCO SAINTS
United managed to complete the double over an unfortunate Sportsco team. Sportsco must be wondering how to deal with a United team who were on fire all over the pitch during todays game and didn’t give the opposition much opportunity to play to their full potential. United perhaps played their best game of the season so far in terms of teamwork and passing to each other to make life difficult for Sportsco. United effectively made sure of the result in the first half and went in at half time 5 goals to the good, Zak Hallett, Tom Peacock, Louie Parish and Liam Morley all providing excellent through balls for United man of the match Tom Wheeldon to finish off confidently. The second half and United continued to dominate, although Sportsco competed better and defended more solidly, Wheeldon hit his sixth and seventh goals during the first 10 minutes of the half, his final goal perhaps his best with a great strike from the edge of the box, Sportsco hit a consolation goal near the end of the game, but United’s excellent team performance was just too good on this occasion.

Fantastic performance today by the whole team, which was even more brilliant when you consider we were missing 2 first choice defenders and our usual keeper. Special mention to Sam F for stepping into the breach between the sticks for the first time. But what can we say about Tom Wheeldon who was unstoppable scoring all 7 goals in an amazing display of finishing. Well done lads!!
