Panthers were off to a very quick start, literally the first attack in under a minute and Tyler scored with a sweet shot. They continued to press early on and had Bentley on the back foot, forcing a corner in six minutes but ,were unable to get to the resulting cross. On seven minutes Bentley won a free kick outside the box but Panthers defence kept the opposition well marked and the shot sailed wide. Immediately Bentley won possession again and just one minute later, broke through to equalise. From then until half time Panthers found themselves under more and more pressure as the shots started coming in and on thirteen minutes won a penalty when one of the Bentley strikers was brought down in the penalty area. Fortunately Josh was up to the task and neatly saved the shot, half time 1-1.
The second half was a more open affair. Just after the start, Bentley broke through to take the lead for the first time and then things really started to get competitive. It was now anyone’s game and it was Panthers who levelled the score on twenty minutes – Tyler put a cross into the box, the ball glanced off a Bentley defender and into the back of the net (2-2). Bentley bounced back straight away and scored from a penalty after a heavy tackle in the box (3-2). Panthers were not going to let this one get away and won a corner on 27 minutes. Some neat passing drew out the Bentley defence and Tyler very calmly slotted home the equaliser (3-3).
The game finished with honours even. A very competitive match with both teams showing some skilful moves. Although either team had chances to win the game, a draw seemed like a fair result.
