League Cup Quarter Final

Wyrley went into this game with 9 players once again and no sub’s with Alicia missing, however the girls were in no mood to lose out on a place in the Semi’s. The last match agains Chasetown saw both teams coming away with a point in the league with a 0-0 draw, this was a different match altogether and the girls where determined to score goals, yet Chasetown had a chance after 3 minutes and should have scored. First off the mark saw a goal from Lizzie who hit home a volley from outside the box with the keeper having no chance,  Amy and Shannon were strong in defence as usual and showed the opposition their speed and strength, Chasetown scored an equaliser after 15 minutes but Maddy struck back with Wyrley’s 2nd goal after a cross from Chloe was slid past the keeper for Maddy to simply side foot into an empty net. In the second half Jodie got on the end of a cross to head in the 3rd goal and seal the victory for the girls.

The game was never in doubt – Well done girls & nice passing football again.

Martin & Shaun
