Colts tame Tigers with a “Great 8″‘
by Fat Scottie on Mar.11, 2012, under Match Reports, News, Under 17 Colts 17/18
Jamie Heston lead the assault on Shire Oak Tigers by bagging the opening pair of goals against the team which have beaten them twice 4-3. Like most buses, Jamie’s waited months for goals and two came together! The match was dominated by slick passing and a will to win well with every player giving 200%.
Old faithfuls Jake Powers and Sam Holdcroft hit two home each, with Sam giving Wayne Rooney a run for his money with a spectacular overhead kick on target.
Colts defence held firm, abley assisted by the midfield – but it was left winger Tommy Farrow that ran riot with four of the eight assists and hitting the beans just after half time. Tigers replied with three consolation goals and pressed for the last 10 minutes to no avail. Colts finished the job with Connor Yates nodding home and Dylan Sutton bursting the net to leave Wyrley with a goal tally of 24 in the last three matches.
Final score: Shire Oak Tigers 3 – 8 Wyrley Colts

Scott
Quoting you, this captures the very essence of the day “and two camethis up tomorrow as I’m still in hospital? Problem at once in a match dominated”.
Seriously though, well done to all the lads, that’s four very good (and high scoring) wins on the trot. Let’s hear it for the coach “one leg, he’s only got one leg….”
