After letting a 4 – 1 lead slip last week against Bush , Cougars travelled to nearby 1st division Tower FC for a 1st round cup match. Joe Mccann should have given Cougars the perfect start when put through but just failed to convert. It wasn’t to be Joes day as he just missed 2 more good opportunities to give Cougars the advantage their play deserved. Cougars started the second half in the same positive attitude, this time got their break through. The ball was worked out well from the back from Umar to Waqaar who found Jacob Shaw on the edge of the box who cleverly saw the keeper off his line & chipped it into the net . Cougars now took full control but again were wasting chances but when Waqaar broke free down the left, drove into the box the defender fetched him down Josh Cowley who had been fantasic at the back cooly stepped up to convert. Sam day should of put the icing on the cake for the Cougars but smashed his shot wide with only the keeper to beat. WELL DONE LADS
