Quarter Final Staffs Ladies Challenge Cup

After a valiant 1st half display by Wyrley 2 quick breaks in the 2nd half gave Kidsgrove the game.  Lauren made several great saves but could do nothing about the 1st goal on 55 mins.  Wyrley never gave up loooking for an equaliser and were very unlucky not to score.  The experience of the older, stronger team was the ultimate downfall of the young  Wyrley team.  Kidsgrove were always looking for the 2nd goal to settle their nerves but it took until the 88min to get it.  Kirsty, Jody, Cath and Kelly were pulled apart on a few occasions but regrouped quickly.  Chelsea, Emily, Tash and Sam battled hard in midfield and have the bruises to prove it. Sophie and Leanne found it hard work getting into the box and both were unlucky not to score.  Subs Charlie and Gemma added fresh legs but found the going hard.

Well played girls, we are all proud of the achievement in reaching the quarter final of the county cup.

Next week we will play in the semi-final of the league cup lets see if a final is in our future.
