Wyrley Panthers 4 – Tipton Youth 2

Panthers first game was against Tipton Youth, Panthers didn’t disappoint. Panthers were in full attack from the start, Ryan Jones making a great run down the right flank to score a super strike into the bottom corner.  Captain Joshua Lester also scored in the first half with a great effort making it 2-0.  Panthers played some great football with some wonderful passing at times.  Panthers also defended extremely well with Fraser Simms producing some great last minute clearances.  Tipton Youth turned the game around with two goals in the first few minutes taking it to 2-2.  Panthers still continued where they left off with Liam Banks free kick floating into the box, enabling Joshua Lester to header in (great goal).  Panthers started to press more with some great play from Wilson Cooper and Joshua Lester.  Panthers added to the score sheet again from Joshua Lester with great control into the area to finish it 4-2.  Goal Keeper Lukas Purcell produced a solid game.  Well done boys!!! Well deserved win!

Wyrley Panthers 1 – Cresswell 5

Panthers second match was an extremely hard game, against a very good Cresswell side, Panthers scored early with a great goal from Liam Banks. Cresswell turned on the pressure and forced Panthers to defend heavily, loosing two goals in.  Panthers still managed to create some great passing moves from Wilson Cooper, Vinnie Jones and Joshua Lester.  1-2 at half time.  Panthers came out fighting working well as a team with some great runs from Wilson Cooper and Ryan Jones tracking back when needed to help Fraser Simms in defence.  Panthers got caught out with another 3 goals in the second half, well taken goals for Cresswell, finishing 5-1 to Cresswell.  Some great positives come out of this game, our passing, looking for team mates and finding space training is all paying off.  Unlucky boys, great play in this tough game.
