Wyrley Panthers faced division 3 leaders Sporting Khalsa on Sunday. With every member of the Panthers present a great feeling of team spirit was felt. It was clear to see how Sporting Khalsa got to the top of the division but Panthers certainly didn’t embarrass themselves by any means. With Panthers managing to prevent any goals for most of the first half an unfortunate penalty lead to Sporting Khalsa being 1 – 0 up at half time.

With the rain lashing down when Sporting Khalsa made it 2 – 0 within the first minute of the second half, Panthers really did find it hard to keep their chins up. 2 more goals followed during the second half leaving the final score at 4 – 0.

For their second match of the day the Panthers faced Park Hill Boys. Again the boys battled on through the rain & showed tremendous determination as Park Hill Boys won 6 – 0. All in all it was a tough Sunday, but every player showed a great deal of courage & camaraderie.

A huge well done to Harry

who was this week’s man of the match for his fabulous work in defence. Keep up the good work Harry!!
