Lions had a fantastic game visiting Pelsall Villa Colts.

Ryan making his debut in goal, saving some great shots and a penalty from Pelsall Villa, and James playing his first full match too, Lions played as a team throughout to fight back against Pelsall Villa to take the win.

Going 3-0 down in the first 5 minutes, Lions held their game together well, with some great individual runs and battles from Brad and Cody, bringing the game back to 3-3 with goals from Liam J and and two from Liam S, going in at half time 4-3 down.

Brandon had a good first half, but had to be substituted for the second half as he picked up a knee injury.  Sean came on to play in defence with Luke, todays captain, and Fraser, with Will moving forward to take control of midfiled.

With the same team spirit in the 2nd half, Lions were unfortunate to go to 6-3 down with some great goals from Pelsall Villa, but then played some excellent midfield passing, held strong at the back, Luke and Fraser linking well, with Liam J breaking to get Lions 4th, a goal mouth scramble ending in an own goal gave Lions number 5, then Liam J got his hatrick with Lions 6th, making the teams tied at 6-6.

The last 5 minutes of the game were thrilling to watch, parents of both sides kicking every ball, both wanting their team to take the win, when Jim got through for Lions to make it 7-6 to Lions, being the first time we had been infront for the whole game.

Lions played exceptional today, all players giving 100% commitment and showing pure team spirit to come from behind in both halves to take the win.

Man of the Match was awarded to the whole team as no-one could be singled out for performance.

We know you all enjoyed today, you all played some great football, keep it up lads, have the confidence and you know you can go on to win more games.

Well done Lions !!!!!!
