For the first five minutes, Panthers struggled to get out of their own half and on 6 minutes paid the price when a failure to clear the ball left Silverdale with a simple tap-in on the far post. This seemed to stir Panthers into action and one minute later equalised when Louie broke free of the Silverdale defence, his shot hitting the post and Tyler put away the rebound. At last Panthers were starting to get the odd chance and came very close to taking the lead on ten minutes but the ball skipped just wide of the left post. However, just moments later, a Silverdale long ball found their striker free on goal who scored with some ease. Panthers were now seeing a little more of the ball and came close in the last minutes of the half. Half time 2-1.
The second half was much more end to end with both sides having their fair share of shots on goal. This unfortunately, was not going to be Panthers day and on 17 minutes Silverdale scored a third. Panthers tried hard to get back into the match but just couldn’t find the net. Shots from Tyler and Jake went just wide and Lewis had a shot from a tight angle well saved by their keeper but, yet again, a Silverdale long ball to their lone striker, evaded Panthers defence and he scored their fourth. Moments later, Panthers won a free kick just outside the right side of the box. Louie struck the ball well, hitting the post but, the shot rebounded wide. The game was now pretty much over and apart from a late shot from Silverdale going just wide, little more happened of any note.
Panthers didn’t really gel as a team today and whenever they gained possession, Silverdale got behind the ball in numbers very quickly, making it hard for Panthers to break through.
