The U16s long winning run came to an end today in the Semi Final of the Staffs County Cup…. but not without a magnificent fight against a Stoke team unbeaten in over 3 seasons! We thoroughly frightened them for 60 minutes during which the game could have been won by either team but luck was on their side and a scrappy goal turned the game. Wyrley piled on the pressure but could not get the equaliser before a well hit cross shot on an increasingly rare Stoke attack sealed the game. Stoke will win the Cup now because their final was today and they know it! Superb girls – really really proud of you all!!

Squad: Cara Turner, Lauren Harris, Rian Mullen (Capt), Ellie Deakin, Chloe Matthews, Laura Avery, Lara Morris, Paige Cartwright, Emily Scott, Emma Cartwright, Ellie Mayling, Jade Squire, Ellesse Birkett
