Tigers v Bloxwich Rangers

The Tigers were looking to improve on last week’s results, the players knew they could do better. The Tigers looked more confident in the early exchanges with Aran and Cole shifting the ball well, Joe R and Kian were also combining well to create chances. The Tigers were putting the pressure on and the corner tally was mounting to no avail. Scott had returned to the side today and to no surprise he added a real composure passing the ball out from the back with Cole always showing to recieve the ball. The Tigers were getting closer to breaking the deadlock and a fine strike from Joe R nearly did it but for some good goalkeeping. The Tigers did get the first goal when Joe R showed a real turn of pace to keep the ball in near the corner flag and promptly lifted his head to pick out the tireless skipper Kian Cox who was charging into the box to fire home, a fine goal from the Tigers. The second half saw the pace of the game slow down and the Tigers gave a goal to their opponents. Chances came and went for the Tigers but they were missed. With Bloxwich only having one shot it was tough to take but a good lesson for the players. A good performance from the Tigers all round, on another day it could have been a cricket score.

Tigers v Silverdale

The Tigers started this game very brightly with Armaan testing the keeper early on. Armaan continued his fine start to the proceedings with intelligent hold up play and good movement which saw him bring others into play, twice creating chances for Joe R only to see the keeper up to challenge on both occasions. The Tigers were really pushing Silverdale back and after several corners Silverdale finally cracked when an inswinging corner from Joe R saw Armaan meet it with a left foot volley. Great Goal. The Tigers continued to Push on and when Mr Consistant, Tom Sutton won the ball in his own half they looked little on, this was soon to change once Tom got the ball out of his feet and started to run at the Silverdale’s defence, having beat two players we were all expecting Tom’s trademark hammer finish, not today the keeper was beaten by a very neat finish into the bottom corner. Also a mention for Lewis and Brad in defence for a very accomplished display. The second half saw the Tigers make changes and continue to dominate with Cole putting in an excellent show of hard work and a real creative streak on the ball. Armaan also returned to the field in defence and showed his versatility with some good defending. New signing Ellie Wilde made her debut today and grew into the game in the second half helping to create the several chances that the Tigers made. However the score did not change.

A big well done to Scott, Lewis, Brad, Armaan, Aran, Joe R, Cole, Ellie, Kian and Tom.

Big John’s Man of the Match today goes to Scott, two faultless displays. In defence and in goal covering for Joe T who could’nt make it today. Well done Scott a great display.
