Wyrley Tigers 27 09 09

The Tigers faced a new challenge today as they played for the first time on Astroturf.

Unfortunately due to a bit of a hurried start to the match, Tigers didn’t quite manage to keep the formation which had proved so successful in previous matches & conceded 2 goals in the first half to Shire Oak Lions.

The second half saw an improvement in the Tigers performance. A third goal to the Lions came as a disappointment to the Tigers but an excellent goal scored by Ryan after a great pass from Thomas put the Tigers back in the game.

The Tigers couldn’t quite manage to pull back any more goals & the final whistle ended the match at 3 – 1 to Shire Oak Lions.

As the Tigers played Shire Oak Saints for their second match of the day, the Tigers really seemed to be back on form.

Connor played his role with great determination in defence & some excellent saves were made by Thomas in goal.

A goal by the Saints didn’t appear to phase the Tigers too much & some great goal attempts were made by Brogan & Ryan.

Unfortunately the Saints managed to score a second goal leaving the final score at 2 – 0, but the Tigers were by no means a push over.

Well done Tigers, you may not have won today, but you all played really well!!

See you all at training on Thursday
