U12 Jaguars 6 v Four Oak Saints 1
by Coops Snr on Jan.14, 2013, under Match Reports, Under 17s Jaguars 17/18
The Jags winning run continued with a Shield victory against Four Oaks Saints Colts. From the outset it was obvious the majority of the game would be played on the offensive as the Jags took the lead in the second minute from Brean’s first time shot. It wasn’t long before it was two as Sam poked home from close range. Some neat build up play down the right which has been a feature in recent weeks between Coops and Ollie as the later finished from 20 yards out and the Jags had eased into a 3-0 lead. The Colts to their credit kept battling making life difficult by defending in numbers, Wyrley kept creating chances that frustratingly weren’t taken before Brean doubled his tally with an excellent first touch finish from a deep looping cross from Coops.
With the request to move the ball quicker ringing in their ears Wyrley started the second half brightly, again scoring in the early minutes as Jamie made it five from another well taken Bruce corner. Frustration set in again as the Jags either overplayed it or missed chances and it wasn’t until late in the half when Billy broke loose and neatly chipped the keeper to make it six. The Colts did get one back from a penalty which was nicely placed giving Pricey no chance.
A solid all round team effort, Man of the Match Coops who has been close on a number of occasions this season working hard up and down the right wing.
