Friday 17th January 2014 saw Veterans Field a full strength team for the second game in a row. We had the advantage of 3 subs. However Staffs Fire service were under strength with only 10 players. My thanks to Kev to agreeing to play for our opponents. Vets started brightly and were a match for Staffs Fire. Unfortunately, as was the scenario for the second game running we ran out of steam and came away on the wrong end of a 7-2 scoreline. We will not give up and we move on to the final fixture of the season. The only disappointment is for the second game in a row i have had to make up the shortfall in match fees as some players seem to think its a free night out.
