Wolves continued their unbeaten start to the season with a battling display against a resilient Pelsall Villa. It was Villa who probably started the better forcing a good early save from Jordan. Wolves soon got a foothold in the game with Tom & Regan looking assured at the back and Callum, Ed & Ben dominating the midfield possession. On 7 minutes wolves got the goal they deserved following a great tackle by Regan which saw him release Lily down the right who crossed for Ben to tap home what will be his easiest goal of the season. Wolves could have doubled their lead just two minutes later but unfortunately for Ed he could not sort his feet out quick enough and the chance went begging.
The second half saw Villa come out all guns blazing and although their goal had an element of luck about it they deserved to level the score five minutes into the second half. Shaken but not stirred Wolves again began to grow in the game. The introduction of Jake, Josh & Cameron saw a new attacking dimension to Wolves’ play as Jake put Lily through to calmly slot past the Villa keeper and give Wolves a 2-1 lead.
Wolves secured all three points with four minutes remaining following a speculative shot which deflected off the Villa defender and into the back of the net.

Wolves’ second game was a much tougher encounter against a Beechdale team who looked very good going forward. It is fair to say that Wolves’ minds were elsewhere as they conceded an early lead after just 5 seconds! Nevertheless Wolves dug deep and following some pressing play by Callum and Ben, Lily was able to break free and produce a pinpoint finish to draw Wolves level at 1-1.
Having worked so hard to get back in the game Wolves saw their hard work thrown away as they allowed the Beechdale attacker to run unchallenged through the heart of the Wolves defence and shoot past the stranded Jordan in the Wolves goal.
Being 2-1 down at half time and realising that their closest rivals Wyrley Panthers had already collected 6 points earlier in the day, Wolves came out like a team possessed in the second half. Five minutes in and Lily was hacked down 18 yards away from the Beechdale goal. Sweeping his mop of hair to one side up stepped dead ball specialist Tom to hit a brilliant free kick up and over the Beechdale wall and crashing into the back of the net.
After levelling the game at 2-2 there was only ever going to be one winner in the game.
Just three minutes later Josh delivered one of his trade mark long throws which fell to the feet of Ben who smashed home his second of the day to give Wolves the lead. Girl of the match Lily all but secured the points moments later as Jake played a lovely through ball which saw Lily latch onto it and despatch it home with the coolest of finishes.
The final nail in the coffin for Beechdale came with five minutes remaining as Callum bulldozed his way through 3 defenders before smashing past the stranded Beechdale keeper.
With the points now secure Wolves were able to move personnel around and see composed performances from Regan & Cameron in midfield and Ed up front.
