A frustrating affair as the Lions had the majority of the play without getting the break they needed. Chances came and went. Ella Spears shot just wide, followed by efforts from Joshua Guest and Ritchie Sutton which were also just wide. Aaron Clee was called off his line to cover the angle as an attack looked dangerous. The second half started well for the Lions as Ryan Wood went close, only for the ‘keeper to make a save. A number of shots were blocked by defenders as the Lions became thwarted by the opposition. George Bicknell through himself into a great tackle to win the ball back and maintain some good pressure. Owen Lloyd was proving to be a rock at the heart of the defence as any attack was quickly dealt with. Then came what proved to be a crucial point in the game. Connor Byrne broke into the penalty area only to be tripped but the referee decided not to award the penalty. Ritchie Sutton then had a chance only to see the ball go just wide. Then at the death another Ryan Wood shot wormed itself wide of the mark. Well done Lions. Man Of The Match was Charlie Smith. Well Done Charlie.!
